Life updates

I’m alive – somewhat.

Silence.

That’s the sound around here for this month.

I do have posts to write. I have reports to share – I haven’t shared any of my September reports, for starters. But it’s just been a bit tough around here.

We started the month with school holidays which usually means I actively take time away from my computers for that digital detox. That was planned, and non-sinister. But halfway through the school holidays, we received news that my husband’s grandmother had passed and that started the whirlwind that we are still trying to recover from now. We flew back to Singapore the very next day and while we were in the midst of that funeral, we received news that my own grandmother had also passed. You might appreciate how much of a turmoil that threw us into. More flights, more time off work and another funeral. We are physically and mentally exhausted. I kept up with expenditure tracking as much as possible, but many of our monthly financial plans were thrown out the window (there was hardly any cooking and a lot of eating out / eating random food). I must admit to not feeling terribly bad about it either. Sometimes it’s all we can do to just survive.

I hope to be back with proper posts next week. I just need a bit of time to get my head screwed back on.

Much love.

  1. I’m so sorry for your losses. Grief in itself is exhausting, let alone all of the reactionary travel you were doing. It highlights what is really important, which is looking after family and yourself. Everything else takes a back seat, and the negative consequences of that are… exactly nothing. Take your time, we look forward to seeing you return when you are ready.

  2. Sorry to hear about this Pia. Just taking time out is probably the best thing to do in most situations like this. And like Mrs ETT has said, it makes you realise how little all the other stuff matters.
Please take the time off you need. We’ll be here when you get back 🙂
